A decade in the strategy departments of London's top ad agencies taught me everything about power positioning and premium pricing. I learned from the best, bounced with the biggest budgets, and then did the most un-corporate thing possible: I moved to Jamaica and started a mushroom farm.
Honestly, I thought I'd left branding behind. But it turns out my career was just on a transformative trip, waiting to be reborn alongside my transition into solo motherhood, when I suddenly needed to magic up an income out of Caribbean breeze.
Moving back to the UK and starting from scratch, the penny dropped. Building a creative empire without corporate big bucks is brutally hard even with the right know how. Luckily, I had the commercial blueprint, but I knew I wasn't the only crunchy mama starting something new, and so my mission came into sharp focus: offer what I know to female founders in my shoes.
